Bavi Automotive Traders International Inc. was established in 2011, with its first branch opening in Cebu City in 2013, beginning with a focus on heavy commercial trucks sourced directly from Japan. Over the years, the business evolved to meet the needs of Filipino entrepreneurs and workers, expanding its range to include Suzuki multicabs and vans, the backbone of livelihood transport across the Philippines. A second Cebu branch followed in 2016, and the Bohol branch opened in 2017, building a reputation that now stretches across the Visayas and Mindanao.

The name Bavi carries a meaning that goes deeper than a brand. It is a Punjabi word for older brother. The founder, who grew up in a small village in Punjab, Pakistan, recalls someone very close to him calling him "Ve Bavi," a personal term of endearment that carried complete trust, reliability, and warmth. That phrase stayed with him. When the time came to build something of his own, the name was already chosen. Not for the market, not for recognition, but because it represented the kind of relationship he wanted to have with every customer.
